Spring in Paris

Spring is in the air!

I love this time of year and the opportunity it gives to add a splash of pink to my Instagram account.

I’m constantly seeing gorgeous pictures of pink blossom and pastel-coloured flowers on my newsfeed, that it only seemed right to contribute my own picture from a particularly sunny, flowery, spring-y day this week.

Spring reminds me of my trip to Paris a few years ago, and the beautiful cherry trees in the Jardin des Tuileries. The pink of the blossom looked amazing alongside the white marble sculptures and the grey and gold buildings of the Louvre museum (which we tragically found out was closed on Tuesdays, on a Tuesday – hence so many photos of cherry trees to pass the time instead).

I was gutted we weren’t able to go to the Louvre, but we ended up going to the Musée d’Orsay in the afternoon, which was also an amazing art museum full of incredible paintings. Lots of people head straight for the Louvre and the Mona Lisa, but the Musée d’Orsay has so much on offer – Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, and Degas, to name a few – and is an incredible building in itself (originally a train station), so definitely worth a visit.

This guy clearly didn’t release the Louvre is closed on Tuesdays, either.

So, this little post counts as my contribution to the blossom bonanza on social media, and also serves as a warning to all of you that the Louvre is CLOSED ON TUESDAYS!
